Jewelers of America is proud to announce the  20 Under 40, Class of 2024!

The 20 Under 40 is a recognition program that spotlights the best and brightest young professionals across the country who exemplify leadership skills and a commitment to bringing joy to their customers' lives through jewelry.

The recipients – who are all employees of JA member stores – went through a nomination process and were selected by a jewelry industry judging panel. From designers to assistants to store owners to C-suite executives, every professional on the 20 Under 40 list has made a positive impact on their store and the industry as a whole.

When she is not immersed in the art of jewelry, she finds enjoyment in the intensity of MMA fighting, where she channels her energy into rigorous training sessions. About Beau: Beau, a third-generation jeweler, embarked on his journey at Dutille’s Jewelry in Lebanon, NH, in 2004, laying the foundation for his distinguished career. In 2005, he pursued formal education at The New Approach School for Jewelers, honing his craft under the tutelage of esteemed mentors like Blaine Lewis and Jason Marchiafava. With a thirst for knowledge and growth, he furthered his expertise through extensive training at Gemvision, JA, and Edge Retail Academy. In his personal life, he shares a beautiful partnership with his wife, Kara, and treasures the joy of fatherhood with his two sons, Colin and Bennett. They love golfing, skiing, and camping. Currently, Beau holds pivotal roles as the VP of the New England Jewelers Association and VP of the Sales/Marketing team at Dutille’s. His leadership extends to overseeing daily operations, serving as an on-call bench jeweler, lending his expertise as a CAD Designer and, most importantly, crafting bespoke designs while collaborating closely with clients. After graduating from Nichols College in 2019, she went on to complete the Graduate Diamonds course through GIA and is now in the final stages of earning her complete Gemologist credentials. Janina's involvement in the jewelry industry expands to the Women's Jewelry Association (Providence Chapter) and the Providence Jewelers Club, where she serves as a member of each board, constantly contributing new ideas. Her work within Baxter’s consists of sales, managerial responsibilities, social media and event planning. Through these roles, she has elevated social media engagement and customer interactions to new levels. Her efforts have pushed the business forward, reaching the next generation of consumers.

About Sara: Sara is the Co-Owner of Summerwind, a second-generation, family-owned independent jeweler located in Portsmouth, NH. She holds a BA in Art History from Sewanee: The University of the South, and is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and a JA® Certified Senior Management Professional, currently pursuing her Registered Jeweler title with the American Gem Society. With 17 years of industry experience, she oversees all day-to-day operations of the store. During the pandemic, sales surged over 80%, and Sara and her team were able to maintain that increase in the years since. In 2023, her vision for an updated showroom came to life in an innovative renovation and Grand Reopening, celebrating 51 years in business. Industry organizations include Jewelers of America, American Gem Society, GIA Alumni Collective, and AGTA. Locally, she is involved with The Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth, the Little Harbor School PTA, the Prescott Park Arts Festival and hosts monthly Ladies’ Nights featuring women-owned small businesses.

About Amelia: Amelia is the Website Manager at Day’s Jewelers. They started as a copywriter at Day’s Jewelers in 2019 and became the Website Manager in 2020. In this role, they oversee Day’s Jewelers website in terms of functionality, new technology, marketing initiatives and more. As part of their website manager duties, they also oversee the e-commerce division of Day’s Jewelers. This includes assisting with closing sales, processing orders, working with customers and managing budgets and procedures for the web department. Amelia never imagined themselves in a position with such a focus on technology and marketing. Their background is in English Literature, originally thinking they would follow a career path in copywriting. Instead, Amelia found an exciting niche at Day’s Jewelers and continuously looks forward to developing new technology for customers and the company.

About Jesse: Jesse Dikes grew up in the luxury industry, always imagining joining his family’s business in selling high-end watches and jewelry. In 2018, he discovered his passion for the industry and enrolled in a course at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York City during the summer of his junior year of college. After earning a degree in Marketing & Advertising with a minor in Small Business Management from Indiana University, he returned to GIA for further education, earning a Graduate Gemologist Degree. In 2020, he became the Store Manager at his family's new Weston Jewelers location in the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel and Casino, a pivotal moment in his career. Despite the challenge of transitioning into this role during a global pandemic, his store flourished, allowing him to expand their brand offerings and later open a Hublot Boutique. He achieved the rank of Captain before returning home to serve the family business and its 85-year legacy. About Troy: Troy Underwood is the Vice President and third-generation of Underwoods Fine Jewelers located in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Alabama with a double major in Finance and Marketing, Troy worked for three years in heavy equipment sales in Saint Louis, gaining diverse retail experience. He then attended GIA Carlsbad, earning his G.G., counter sketching and bench titles. Afterward, he joined Lee Michael’s flagship store in Baton Rouge where, in only two years, he worked his way up to a management position. Moving to Fayetteville in 2021, Troy embraced his leadership role at Underwoods, having a significant impact on the 66-year-old firm’s success. He continued his education and in 2022 received the Certified Gemologist Appraiser title from AGS. He has taken charge of overhauling the website, revamping digital and social media, implementing a new POS, as well as heading up the diamond buying department. He has made multiple solo buying trips to India and developed new strategic sources and contacts throughout the industry.
