Jewelers of America’s Impact Initiative is a multifaceted program dedicated to fostering the growth and sustainability of the jewelry industry. The Impact Initiative will focus on providing essential programing and funding to organizations within the U.S. jewelry sector with the goal of supporting a range of projects–from those enhancing ethical practices and environmental responsibility to advancing innovation and education among jewelry professionals.

The Jewelers of America Impact Initiative is part of the association’s new three-year strategic plan that prioritizes development in key areas that make up the organization’s identity: energize and serve the member community, advance education, and amplify advocacy. By investing in these vital areas, the Jewelers of America Impact Initiative aims to ensure a thriving future for the jewelry industry and contribute to the overall improvement of its sustainability and impact.

How To Apply

Applications will be accepted through April 29, 2025. Funds will be distributed to organizations or companies based on programs, potential reach and need. Eligible companies include:
  • Nonprofit organizations with a clear mission for jewelry industry advancement
  • Companies offering jewelry-related programing
  • Trade associations focused on the US jewelry sector

Jewelers of America will be giving $100,000 in funds for 2025. Setup like an endowment fund, the Impact Initiative has the potential to support the industry for years to come.

Who is eligible to receive funds from Jewelers of America for the Impact Initiative?

  • Companies should be one of the following:
  • Nonprofit organizations with a clear mission related to jewelry industry advancement
  • Companies and institutions offering jewelry-related programs
  • Trade associations focused on the jewelry sector

All funding must be used toward programs, not direct sponsorship of events

Entities applying for funds must be based in the United States of America and have programing targeted to positively impacting the U.S. sector.

What are the scope of the programs and initiative that are eligible?
  • Programs and initiatives should directly contribute to one or more of the following areas:
  • Enhancing ethical practices and transparency in the jewelry supply chain
  • Promoting environmental sustainability within the industry
  • Supporting educational and professional development for jewelry professionals
  • Increasing diversity and inclusion within the industry
  • Training and educating jewelers to advance security efforts.

Do you need to be based in the United States of America?
All companies must be based in the United States of America. However, consideration could be given to international projects that have a significant impact on the U.S. jewelry industry.

What are other considerations?
Applicants should demonstrate financial stability and the capacity to manage resources effectively. This might include providing recent financial statements and program overviews for review.

How much funding will Jewelers of America be giving out?
Jewelers of America will be giving out a total of $100,000 in 2025 to applications of the Impact Initiative funds. The fund can be distributed to any number of qualified recipients.

What will the judges be looking for within the applications?
Judges will be reviewing a variety of factors including:
  • Meeting Criteria
  • Potential Impact
  • Alignment with the mission of Jewelers of America
  • Financial Need

When are the applications open?
Jewelers of America will be accepting applications from March 25, 2025 – April 28, 2025. Impact Initiative funds recipients will be announced by May 22, 2025.

What will recipients be required to do after receiving funding?
Recipients will be required to provide a project status update to Jewelers of America six months after the funds are received. They will also be required to sign an agreement document detailing promotional usage and additional terms and conditions.
